Opening October 2025, GR SPACE BRISBANE is Australia’s first hub dedicated to the Ricoh GR series.

More than a gallery, it’s a space for community, creativity and culture- hosting exhibitions, workshops and events that showcase both local talent and global GR artistry.

In addition to the photographic exhibition, GR SPACE BRISBANE will also showcase a curated collection of photobooks, carefully selected by Booktopia. The exhibited works will be produced as fine art prints on Ilford Galerie Fine Art Papers, underscoring the GR series commitment to image quality and creative expression.
The launch of GR SPACE BRISBANE coincides with the highly anticipated debut of the RICOH GR IV, the newest model in the iconic GR lineage.

To mark this occasion, the inaugural exhibition, titled simply “IV”, will feature the work of four Australian GRists, each presenting their first creations made with the GR IV.
“The GR series has always been more than just a camera- it’s a movement, a culture, and a way of seeing the world. With GR SPACE BRISBANE, we are creating a place to promote Australian homegrown talent, and we are honoured to open our doors at the same time as the global launch of the RICOH GR IV.”
GReat Southern
Land
April 2 – June 30 2026 | Mon-Fri 10am-4pm

GReat Southern Land is a photographic exploration of Australiana without spectacle. Rather than relying on iconic landmarks or overt national symbols, the exhibition focuses on quieter, lived moments - images that reward attention through subtlety, texture, and atmosphere. These are observations made in passing, shaped by proximity and presence rather than pursuit.

The title uses wordplay, “GR” capitalised, to reference the Ricoh GR lineage while reframing what Australian photography can be: not monumental, but intimate and observant. The GR’s everyday portability underpins the work, allowing moments to be noticed rather than staged. The exhibition is structured as a field of images rather than a linear narrative. Variations in tone, colour, subject, and emotional temperature are intentional, allowing viewers to enter the work from different points and form their own connections.

Each photograph stands quietly on its own, offering more through closer and slower examination.
